Rani Mukerji’s Comeback Film Will Leave You Shocked: The True Story Behind Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway

Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee is all set to take on a powerful and poignant role in the upcoming film, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway. The film is based on a true story and follows the struggle of a mother who fights against the Norwegian government to reunite with her children.

The film’s storyline is inspired by the real-life events of an Indian couple, Sagarika and Anurup Bhattacharya. The couple moved to Norway in 2010 with their two children, but their lives took a tragic turn when Norwegian child welfare services (Barnevernet) accused them of negligence and took custody of their children.

The Bhattacharyas were heartbroken and were left with no option but to fight for their children’s custody. They took the matter to the Indian embassy in Oslo, but their efforts proved futile. The couple then reached out to the Indian government, which stepped in and raised the issue with the Norwegian authorities.

The case garnered international attention, with people all over the world rallying in support of the Bhattacharyas. After a long legal battle, the family was finally reunited in 2012.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway brings this heart-wrenching story to the big screen, with Rani Mukherjee playing the role of the mother who fights for her children’s custody. The film’s trailer shows Rani’s character, Mrs. Chatterjee, running from pillar to post as she pleads with the governing bodies in Norway and India to help her get her kids back.

The film is produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment, and directed by Ashima Chibber. It also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh, and Neena Gupta.

The film’s producers have expressed their commitment to backing content-driven and provocative stories, and Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is no exception. In a statement, producer Nikkhil Advani said, “It is a matter of pride and responsibility with which we have made our film and are delighted to bring the inimitable Rani Mukerji to our audiences.”

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is slated to release in theatres on March 17, 2023. With Rani Mukherjee leading the cast and an emotionally charged storyline based on a true incident, this film is sure to strike a chord with audiences across India and beyond.
