In Hindi cinema, filmmakers are taking a lot of interest in the horror-comedy genre. After films like the horror film ‘Ragini MMS’, the psychological thriller ‘Phobia’, Pawan Kripalani has now directed the horror-comedy film ‘Bhoot Police’.
The film is the story of two brothers Vibhuti (Saif Ali Khan) and Chironji (Arjun Kapoor) who claim to be exorcists. They have their own special type of vehicle in which they live. Baba & Sons are written in reverse on this vehicle. Actually, his father is a great tantric, while Vibhuti is a hypocrite and a hypocrite. He wants to earn money under the guise of superstition. He does not believe in ghosts, while Chironji is of his opposite nature. He wants to carry forward his legacy by learning Tantric Vidya from the book of Tantra-Mantra given by his father.
He is called upon to exorcise a ghost named Kishkandi from a tea garden in the beautiful valleys of Himachal. 27 years ago in this garden, his father had subdued this ghost. The owners of this plantation are two sisters Maya (Yami Gautam Dhar) and Kanika (Jacqueline Fernandez). Can both the brothers help these sisters who turned from rich to bankrupt? Will they be able to exorcise the ghost, which only comes out at night? The answers to these questions will be found after watching the film.
The film, written and directed by Pawan Kriplani, initially deals with fraud under the guise of superstition. He has tried to create confusion about being a ghost or not but has not been successful in that. Despite the two brothers being told the seventh generation of the Kaal Bhairav Tantric Gharana, there is no concrete issue in their story.
There is a contradiction in the story. On the lines of Go Corona, Go Kishkandi and Nepotism (nepotism) have ruined the whole country… Like the dialogues laugh. Saif Ali speaks in a different style in the film. His style captivates. However, they are unable to maintain uniformity in it. There are more clowns here. He does not seem to be adapting to the role of a hypocrite Tantrik. On the other hand, Arjun Kapoor does not seem comfortable in the character. Despite the two brothers living together since childhood, their pronunciation is incomprehensible.
The speciality of horror-comedy films is the hidden mystery in the story along with the humour. Curious about future developments. There was no such feeling here. You can easily predict the character of Jacqueline Fernandez. The highlight of the film is the comedy of Jamie Lever, the daughter of Johnny Lever. Like his father, he is also talented. In the film, the scene of him singing the song ‘How is the josh dialogue’ and ‘Aao Na…’ is definitely remembered.
The rest Jacqueline Fernandez is looking glamorous. Yami Gautam manages to play her character in limited sequences. Rajpal Yadav and Javed Jaffrey are in their familiar style in cameo roles.
