Blast on Punjab Police Intelligence Office building in Mohali, Grenade attack, Chandigarh and Punjab on high alert

A loud bang was heard on the third floor of the Key Building of the Intelligence Office in Sector-77, Mohali. It is said that the RPG (Rocket Propanel Grenade) fell and it made an explosion-like sound. The blast happened late in the evening around 7.45 pm. Police say the grenade did not explode. The entire area has been sealed. A high alert has been issued in Chandigarh and the entire Punjab. The windowpanes of the third floor of the building were broken due to the grenade attack and the wall was also damaged.

On the other hand, Mohali SP (D) Ravinder Pal has said that there has been a minor attack on the Intelligence Head Quarter building. There has been no known damage. The window was broken, but there was no damage inside. There was an attack on the road, the investigation of which is going on. All the top police and intelligence officers are present on the spot. The investigation is being done by the police team. The police are registering a case soon.

It is said that a grenade was thrown to blow up the building. A red alert has been issued in Mohali and surrounding areas. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sought a report from the state DGP on the entire incident. A search operation is being conducted in the entire area and the incident is being investigated. Had the grenade exploded, the building could have been heavily damaged and there could have been a lot of damage to the surroundings as well.
